When we embarked on the journey to create L500, we knew it wasn’t just about creating a powerful network of Latina leaders. It was also about giving back and uplifting other, younger Latinas to grow in their careers. We want to inspire the younger generation so they can also aspire to have a seat at the table. As such, one of our key pillars is the “Impact” pillar to mentor and inspire younger Latinas.

With this in mind, we are excited to introduce L5, L500’s new mentorship program, in partnership with the WIELD Texas (Women’s Initiative for Entrepreneurship and Leadership Development) at the University of Texas at Austin. For the past four years, WIELD has been committed to advancing the number of women in executive leadership, which aligns with L500’s mission of empowering and elevating more Latinas into leadership roles.

L5 will pair up 5 UT students with 5 L500 Latina leaders to share practical advice, key learnings and ideas on how to navigate their career as they work through their college years and enter the workforce.

We kicked off this new mentorship program today through a luncheon with the students and mentors in Austin. This is only the beginning with our first cohort of students. We look forward to inspiring and impacting many more up and coming Latinas in the years to come!
